With more than three decades of experience, including 23 years at Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Rob Walling has become one of the go-to experts on some of the biggest regulatory, technical and strategic issues facing the industry.

He is a prominent and influential expert in the enterprise risk captive insurance sector and known for his long and innovative leadership in the broader captive insurance industry.

He is regularly called on to provide expert testimony on important matters facing captive insurance companies and is a widely acknowledged thought leader and resource for captive insurance companies taking the 831(b) election.

As one of the market's leading actuaries, he signs captive statements of actuarial opinion (SAOs) in nearly all US jurisdictions, and internationally, and has been the appointed actuary and/or loss reserve specialist for scores of domestic, Bermudian and other international insurance companies, risk retention groups (RRGs), captive insurance companies and self-insurance programs.

He continues to publish captive-related articles and, in the past year, has written on topics as diverse as regulator education, 831(b) micro-captive issues, advocacy and promoting captive-friendly legislation and captive insurance to manage risks associated with organized crime.

He currently serves several state departments of insurance on issues related to captive matters and has been a volunteer member or leader at captive-focused and other property and casualty organizations, including as a board member of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and a faculty member of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE).
